Red Horse Updates
Yesterday, the resistance had its first big wins in Trump’s backyard, including a stunning victory that will cause national ripples in the political landscape and shatter the foundation of Republican extremism. As you can imagine, Red Horse Strategies was proud to be at the forefront of these massive victories.
We were especially proud of the resounding win by teacher Christine Pellegrino for State Assembly on Long Island. We developed a game-changing strategy and learned valuable lessons that will be instrumental as we expand Red Horse’s footprint and engagement in the upcoming Midterm elections. This race featured a shocking swing–a nearly 40-point turnaround in deep-red Republican turf. We were proud to work with NYSUT and their political team to guide an Independent Expenditure that literally made history! We couldn’t have done this without the expert analysis and guidance of Tulchin Research, who we know will be doing more to guide progressives to big wins over the coming years.
Closer to home, we were excited to elect the 32nd Democrat to the NY State Senate. Senator Brian Benjamin is a true champion of Harlem, the Upper West Side, and El Barrio. Red Horse’s Campaigns Director Aaron Hecht worked with the Senator for 3 years as he rose from community leader to become the progressive difference-maker in the State Senate. Our entire team is so grateful to have worked with his staff, supporters, family, and friends–and look forward to working with him in the future.
